I have some pictures that are taking ages to download because of the size, how should i make them smaller?

i have been trying to attach them to send them out as e mails and even just one picture is taking ages becasue of the size, i need help pls...

EZ thumbs  - small program (FREE) to change the file size and not necessarily the size of the picture

There's a free program called Irfanview that will recompress/resize pictures.
