so i just restored my laptop and it was already installed with a 60 day microsoft office 2003 trial. and back then, i've bought the microsoft office 2003. so i just put the disc in the installed it, and it told me to restart, but i didnt do that. but i did turn off my laptop and turned it on later. so then i tried to open one of saved files from back then before i restored my computer. and when the window opened, it told me to install again, and the serial number that i used didnt work, and i have to use trial serial number for it to work. how do i fix it so i have the full version?

  1. Well here's what you need to do. First, get a copy of CCLEANER (http://downloads.comstar-computers.com/T... ).

    Now, Install it.

Next, Launch the CCleaner from the desktop (Red "C" Icon).

    Click on TOOLS

You will see a list much like the ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS list in Windows.

    Let's uninstall all Office products.

    Next (reboot if needed)

Now back in CCleaner, we click on ISSUES and then SCAN FOR ISSUES.

What this will do is, it will search the registry and remove OFFICE 2003 (and any other versions you have uninstalled) from the registry.

    Click CLEANER next.

Click RUN CLEANER (Don't be fooled by the status bar, this will take a few minutes to complete.)

Close out and then download the NTOPTREG (NT Registry Optimizer = http://downloads.comstar-computers.com/T... ) and decompress it into it's own folder.

Now launch it and allow it to defrag the registry.

    Reboot.

Now, with your PAID VERSION, Install Office 2003.

Do NOT install the Demo. If the Demo is all you have, then install it and immediately upgrade to the paid version (but reboot as calls for in the setup wizard.

If this STILL fails, Email your Product Key to me, if it checks out, I will send you an installer package that will override the present install. You will have to edit the product key to reflect yours in order to make it "legal"...

  2. You need the correct licence number for 2003, no other way.

  3. You will have to call Microsoft Licensing.  When you install Office, you get 1 license which means 1 install.  After you restored and re-installed, that is a second license.  You can call Microsoft and they will give you a new authorization key to make your copy work again.  When you put in your CD, and where it prompts for your 25 digit key, there is a link there to an 800 number to contact Microsoft.  Explain to them what happened, and they will accomodate.  Good luck.
