I have some problems with state tax...could you please tell me what you think about this?

Last year i was in the USA on a J1 visa and i was supposed to get both my federal and state tax back. I did get the federal tax back some time ago, but not the state tax. i was told that some states might consider that the federal tax is enough and i might not get the state tax after all. could this be true? and if yes, shouldn't i get some paper that says so?

I had previously been to the states on the same visa in 2005 and got all my taxes back.

Call the state tax board.

Thats not right that you didnt get it.

It may have gotten lost or stolen.

You wont know untill you call
