I have some questions abt swimming!!!!!?

I have signed up for swimming classes for twice a week..i really want to know, whether the following questions are myths or facts????

1. will swimming darken my complexion???

2. will swimming make me thinner, because i'm already thin!

my friend is scaring me by telling me to quit swimming because of the repurcusions.........plz tell me guys whether the questions are true or not!!!!!!!!

  1. 1.  Depends on your swimming pool - if it indoors or outdoors.  If outdoors - yes; if indoors - I don't think so.  Please buy sunscreen lotion to protect you from harmful UVA/UVB rays that damages skin if your classes are held on an outdoor pool

    2.  It will build and tone your muscles than it would make you thinner.

    3.  I suggest you ignore your friend on these matters she's no expert in the first place - but the decision to seriously pursue it or not will be up to you.  Swimming is a good cardiovascular exercise, period.


  2. yes your skin will get a bit darker. but when you come home make sure to take a very cleansing bath get all the chlorine out of your hair and your skin. but mostly hair because the chlorine will damage your hair.

    and no you will not get skinner i think your friend doesnt no what shes saying( no offense)not in a mean way though

    you wont get that skinner maybe a few ounces and all but it actually kind of good because when you swim you dehydrate and you get HUNGRY and so you will probably eat more and gain the ounces back.

    one more thing: dont worry swimming is fun at first kinda hard but once you get the hang out it you dont wanna get out the pool. =)

  3. Well, swimming will not make you thinner if you eat it all back, but If you swim lots you will get toned and get much bigger muscles so you will not have the thin problem anymore

  4. your skin might get darker but apply sun block everytime you get in the water...

    and it can be avoided if you swim in a covered pool...not too much direct to the sun,,

    it wud make you thin in a way and build up leg and arm muscle...

    but dont worry that you'll be too thin, cuz it will just amp up ur muscles..and tone them!

  5. Swimming outside will make you tanner because of the sun obviously but swimming inside shouldn't have any effect on your skin color.

    As for the weight loss it is true that even people who are already skinny become even skinnier when they start swimming. It won't be that bad and those "repurcusions" your friend is telling you about are totally false if they're health-related, swimming is actually one of the healthiest forms of exercise, even more so than running and jogging.

  6. it depends. if you're in an outdoor swimming pool, of course your skin will get darker, unless you use sunblock. If you are in an indoor pool, your skin will stay the same if you take showers, put moisturizing lotions, and soap on your skin.

    if you swim for an hour you burn about 400-500 calories, if you really swim, not fool around like wandering in the water.

  7. swimming will not darken your

    complexion. i have been swimming

    for seven years.  and you won't get

    thin down to the bones you will have

    more muscle [ which is not a bad thing ]

    it won't change your appearance.
