I have night contacts, and there's a little redness around my pupil, on the whites. There's more on the left eye than the right eye. I'm wondering what it is...

  1. You can have an infection for example form wearing dirty contacts. I had it couple times.

You should trow away contacts you are using now, and switch to glasses for at least 2 weeks. This is what my doctor recommends to me when I have infection.

If it pains a lot go see you doctor!

  2. I had this exact same thing - you are wearing your contacts for too long.  Your eye gets its oxygen by absorption of oxygen that dissolves on the surface of your iris, it doesnt need much but this supply is completely cut off if you wear your lenses for almost 24 hrs a day.  so the blood vessels in your iris rise to the surface of the eye to try and get more oxygen, and this is visible in the red ring around the colour of your iris.

I was supposed to be able to wear my lenses all the time but my eyes couldnt cope - so my optician took my lenses off me for two weeks and then i had to take my lenses out for 3-4 hrs each evening minimum to avoid it coming back.

go see your optician, because if one of these blood vessels actually ruptures you will be in big trouble
