Yesterday i was driving and about to make a right turn, and looked left towards oncoming traffic, when the traffic cleared i was about to turn right but i didnt see the person crossing the street. Luckily I didnt even hit the gas and hit the brakes again. I think i moved like half a centimeter anyways, but he noticed this and yelled a bunch of swear words and walked away. Is it possible that he could have gotten my license and say later that he was injured? I didn't even hit him

  1. No I think you're just fine. You probably just startled him as well.

  2. hey jack**s is there a reason to post the identical question 4 times?

  3. If he didn't have injuries, I don't know how that would have happened.  I do know that they suggest when you turn right to not only look left, but look right right before you turn (left-right-left), because there might be a pedestrian and they usually have right away at many intersections and if you're in a parking lot and turning right onto a road, there may be a jogger running by.  Just like you can't be expected to slam on your breaks when you drive by every side road, a jogger can't always slam on his breaks when on the sidewalk and passing a parking lot.  But I doubt he could get you, if you didn't hit him, because he needs injuries.  The worse I think could happen is if an officer was watching and cited you for failing to yield right of way to a pedestrian at a crosswalk.  But you said that you didn't actually hit the gas, you were only about to, so they wouldn't be able to get you for failure to yield.  If you only moved a half centimeter and he was swearing at you because he read your intentions, the pedestrian is just an anal homeless guy with issues.  But then at the same time, we've all been pedestrians and know how not fun it is when it almost feels like cars only pay attention to other cars and not pedestrians.

  4. You learned this turning lesson a lot easier than I did. I actually bumped a lady and LUCKILY she was not hurt and did not even call the police.

One good rule to remember: NEVER be moving fwd if you are not LOOKING fwd.

Don't worry. He has no injuries or proof at all. If someone contacts you in the future, tell the truth. That's always best. WELL, MOST of the time.
