is anyone else reiving such mail. They have sent out a final tax credits decision detailing what we have received. Then the next day we receive a letter thanking us for our change of circumstance information. It then goes on to say we are not entitled to anything that year. I am really confused.Anyone out there with the same problem? Thanks or replying

  1. You are lucky that they are so up to date in your case.

  2. we had mail off them about claims dating back 4 years, saying we owed them £10,000, we appealed, got advice from citizens advice in fact from everywhere, after about a year, we had a letter from them saying that, they were looking at alot of cases again because people were not informed properly and ours was one of those cases, so hopefully we wont owe them anything anymore.

  3. Tax credits recently have been looking into claims from 04-05 and 05-06 where there may have been system errors leading to people being overpaid in tax credits. They are checking such claims which may have been affected and if you were overpaid they are not asking for the money back.

Alternatively you would always get one of these if a change has been put onto your award from 05-06. These final award notices need to be legally sent to confirm your payments were correct anytime a change goes through their system. So long as it doesn't say anything about an overpayment don;t be worried.

If your still stressed call 0845 300 3900 with your NINO at the ready.

  4. Seems strange, have you tried calling them and asking why they sent this.

  5. Thank you for your very interesting question!
