  1. slowly u can do it. just think of ur gf and how much she loves u. dont force urself and u can stop dat habit. good luck

  2. have some chocolates with you and whenever you feel like smoking have one chocolate. Try visiting Cancer Hospital where you will see poeple suffering coz of smoking which may help you in quitting smoking permanently.

  3. Congratulations. Just think, your lungs are already cleaning themselves out. Every time you cough, they will be getting better. Later, you will notice a big difference. It is the hardest thing I ever did but I had to have a lung transplant and could not get it unless I had already quit. I didn't know if I would even live long enough for the transplant. I took a lot of showers to wash it out of my skin. I drank a lot of water to flush it out of my system.I reminded myself constantly that I was in controll of what I wanted and not my nervous habits. When my body started yelling for a cig. I reminded myself that I did not want it.It is hard. Good luck. I know you can do it because you controll your own mind. Get your mind on other things and for awhile, stay away from others you know that smoke. If you are used to having coffee with your cig, drop your coffee for awhile. Anything like this  helps.

  4. NICOTINE LOZENGES ,GUM,INHALERS nicotine is very addictive almost becomes part of the brains "nutrition" some safe nicotine should help out ,you may need it for life but it will be longer without smoking!

  5. Congrats on not smoking!!! Once you stop smoking your body goes through a process of "healing" so you will probably go through a brief period where you will be hacking and coughing, but once that is over your ability to breathe will really improve! Although stopping won't heal all damage that's done it will improve your health and I think if you stick with it you will be so glad you did. Good luck! Keep up the good work ;)

  6. Seven years, this October.  Pistachios helped me (with shells)

I say "I still miss it and want a cigarette, but I'd rather BREATHE, instead."

I wrote this to someone, yesterday...

"Imagine in a few years drowning in your own lung fluids. You can breath but it feels like you're in the deep end of a swimming pool and sometimes you have to cough out the water.

Imagine that feeling every night and you have to get one of those beds that slants your feet down so you can breathe all night, not waking up and coughing for ten minutes, all night long."

One day, hour, minute, second - at a time.

    Good luck.  See link.

  7. It is key to stay positive, don't focus on the cravings. Keep the reasons why you quit in the first place circling through your head. This will keep your spirit and motivation high. Cravings will ease as a result.

If you keep your focus on the negatives you are reinforcing a false belief that is too hard to quit. You just have to truly believe you can do it.

The only thing you need to quit is have faith in your own abilities as a strong human being.

There are no real negative side effects to quitting, only positive ones. The longer you have stayed smoke free the easier the quitting process becomes. You have made the right choice, believe you can quit and you will.
