I have store-bought hamster food for my hammy?

But, i heard that you can't give raw beans to hammys and in the hamster food i found a bean that is purple and dry... Of course i take them out to be safe... but why is it there if it's hammy food/

  1. It is kidney beans- it's called research, I've never even heard of the food and I can type it into google and find the ingredients.

    They can eat kidney beans and they will have been cooked. Don't worry about it. Oddly enough, a company who serves to thousands are not out to poison your hamster.


  2. if u are not sure its a bean u should take it out like u did. u should probly call the company that made the food or write a letter of complaintment.

  3. They can't have raw kidney beans the ones in that food have been cooked and then dehydrated.  Besides I read that Kaytee Food was bad for hamsters because of a preservative they put in it.

  4. are you sure it's a bean?  It could just be something else.  Check the package it usually tells what is in it.  And yes a lot of people saw raw beans are poisinous.
