I have swim team practice tomorrow, but I don't know if I can go with swimmers ear. Will my cap be enough to stop the water and what happens if water does get in my ear, will it make the infection worse? Should I just not go to practice tomorrow? I've had it for about a week now and started using antibiotics about 4 days ago.

  1. You probably shouldn't go to pratice tomarrow.  B'/c if you get water in your ear it will just make the infectin worse. Your swim cap won't help you either.  Srry about the swimmers ear!  Good Luck!!

  2. The bathing cap will not help to prevent the water from reaching into your ears. Most likely the water will hurt the ears and therefore it is probably a better descision to not go to practice tomorrow. I know that's hard to do, since I am a swimmer myself who hates to miss practice, but sometimes you need to. If you really want to go then try ear plugs.

  3. Call your doctor and ask. Or use one of these Ask-a-Nurse hotlines. I would personally say No, do not swim. I've had swimmers ear before, and the best way to deal with it is to just get rid of it as quickly as possible.

  4. get ear plugs or try using hydrogen peroxide, rubbing alcohol, and vinegar. put each into your ear one at a time and keep it there for 30 seconds to 1 minute then drain it on a towel. that always helps swimmers ear go away for me. also do not do this for more than 1 week then it could make it worse.
