I have the #4 Overall Pick - Do I take Marion Barber or Tom Brady?

Question

Please don't answer with someone other than these two players. I've narrowed it down to these two, and these two alone. Who would you take of these two, and why?

Take Tom Brady. He'll give you more fantasy points, and who knows...maybe Barber will still be there when your turn comes around again.

Well... Brady is tempting but I'm a firm believer in drafting your starting RB first. In most leagues you must start 2, and the talent dropoff at the RB position is much greater than at QB.position.

Barber is somewhat unproven- he's alwayss split carries and never had to carry the load by himself before, whereas with Brady you know what you're getting.  Still, you can't win without running backs- Barber is the pick.

If you take Tom Brady as your first pick you are going to be weak at RB. In my experience this also causes a trickle down effect. When you're weak at a position you tend to overload in the middle of the draft at said position hoping to get lucky with a breakout player. I also don't believe that Brady is in line for a MASSIVE season again. I'd say 35TDs and 4000-45000 yds. Given that, he isn't that far ahead of the other top QBs. Think about who your top RB is going to be. In a 10 team league probably a guy like Ryan Grant. Are you comfortable with him as your #1 RB? I wouldn't be. I say, for the sake of your team, and to give yourself the best chance at fielding a balanced team with a legitimate shot at a championship, go with the RB. And that's Marion Barber.

Tom Brady without a doubt he has the receivers and the giants are the only team to figure him out so expect another 40 tds and 4500 pass yards better than MB the trio.

I might take Brady with the #4 overall pick.  I might take Barber with the #9 overall pick.  So I say Brady.
