  1. Thats they way most of the new phones are now.

    I have the Palm, and its the same way. Doesnt give ya much room to type much. It sucks, I hate that part of the phone.

    They really should change that.

  2. Because texting is really sending SMS's (Short message Service) So they consider 160 characters a short message. I know it sucks but that is the way it is. I know the Motorola Q will allow you to typy as much as you want and then break it up into 160 character messages
