The Comodo Firewall pop ups are a bit annoying, but everyday a box pops up asking if I should ALLOW or DENY "svchost.exe" It logs it as a High Alert/Suspicious Behavior. I keep clicking DENY because I don't know what it is. When I look in the Application Monitor there are different destinations & ports. What is SVCHOST? How do I know which ones to ALLOW or DENY?

  2. Comodo.com offers to clean your computer free just go to their website

  3. it stands for service host, and is the host process for services in XP, It could be hosting a malicous service, but usually, its just for the usual ones like Automatic Updates, BITS (background intelligent transfer service) DCOM and a bunch of others windows runs.  You can try going into services and disabling ones you dont need.  I'd start with Automatic updates and BITS.  Then give security center the axe.  To get to the services list, right click on "My Computer" and go to manage, Then services should be listed on the left hand side.

Heres a quick and dirty guide to what you can disable.  Remember to do these ONE AT A TIME.  It might take a while but it will increase speed a LOT.
