I have the Sony Handycam HDR-SR5, and it's not working with my Mac... can anybody help me out?

I already did what the instruction manual said to do (which was just to download a PDF file), but I can't get videos off of the Handycam and onto my computer. I can get some images and the first frame of each video, but not the entire video. Can anybody please help me out?

I don't have iLife '08 on that computer. Could that be a problem? I do have iLive '08 on another computer, but it's a hassle to use.

The SR5 saves in AVCHD format. Only the most current iMovieHD (that ships with iLife08) will work with that AVCHD compression method.

You should probably look into the iMovie discussions at the apple.com support area.

You need to download and install StreamClip from Apple and convert that MPEG2 cpmpresed video to something iMovieHD likes... like .mov or DV or .mp4...
