I restarted the Xbox and for know went away I guess, maybe it was something when I disconnected and reconnected the cords.

  1. The same blinking three lights also can mean a power error.  If the connectors have been jostled around (if the system was bumped or something) or if you have a fanstand for the system (like a supercooler that works off the xbox's power) then you could be sapping power and get the "red ring of death"

When you get the ring, first unplug everything and plug the system in with no add-ons or fans or anything.  See if it boots up.  If it does, you were just overloading the powerblock.

If you stand your system upright, STOP IT NOW.  The reason I say this is that even if you have a fan, the fan's exhaust is severly impared when it's upright.  Instead, lay it flat, take off the fan, and leave the system in a more exposed area.  You'll have less DVD's breaking, and less power problems this way.

But yes, it's "normal" somewhat to possibly get the "fake red ring of death" and not have a completely dead system.  Blinking is different than a solid three quadrants...  a solid three quadrants means your system pulled out a gun, and shot itself in the face.

    Remember:

Blinking Three = Power Problem or Overheat Problem.

Solid Three = XBox Committed Suicide, and if a game is in the tray, then it committed murder-suicide.

  2. No, but I think you may have lucked out. I guess just keep using it, and in the worst case scenario, you just send it back to Microsoft.
