  1. Nervous of what?

If you are afraid of ghosts, think of it this way. A ghost is like you or I, just without a physical body.

If I am going to a place where I am worried about evil energy, I wear or carry a bit of snowflake obsidian, that is a good protection.

  2. Yes. Be nice and respectful to the people in the group and  of their beliefs.  The time to questions beliefs and methods is after the investigation not during.

Keep an eye for what you think was done right and what you think could be improved.

Ghost (and most other activity) do not set up appointments so your chance is about the same as  selecting any celebrity and then standing on the lot of a Hollywood set and waiting to see that celebrity. However, you might find environmental factors that could possibly explain peoples experiences. If you have an experience please let us know.

  3. cobra is a liar.

Well you would have to go in with the knowledge that you are in control of the situation. Very few spirits can actually hurt you. If you go in with fear and are prone to hysteria, then you can not conduct a real investigation. Every creak and knock will make you jump. ( think Most Haunted)

If you want to do some sort of protection, that would depend on your religion. For Christians , that would be prayer. For Pagans there are rituals as well.

  4. Whats a paranormal vigil?

  5. Take a book because you will get bored as there is no such thing as ghosts.

  6. My advise to you if you are interested in seeking the paranormal would be the following.

    1.  Remember there are very few incidences where people have been hurt by anything paranormal.

    2.  If you have long hair, tie it back.

    3.  Take plenty of pictures...you dont have to aim and shoot, but take 2 or 3 in the same spot.

    4.  Do not go anywhere without the group. ( the only exception is the restroom, then let someone know where you are)

    5.  If you get uncomfortable or physically ill, let someone in the group know and together go away from where you are.

    6.  If you have a psychic there, please do not carry on long conversations with he/she during the investigation.

    7.  Do not wear any cologne or aftershave.

    8. Do not discuss anything in front of the client.

    9.  If you smoke...only in a spot set aside for it.

    10.  Do not be under the influence of any mind altering sustances.

    11. Remember that cameras are rolling and recorders are on.  If you make a noise, say that it was you.  Speak clearly so that you will not be mistaken for an evp.

    12.  Have fun!!!  Let me know how you liked it!

  7. Just go along to venue, stay with the group and enjoy your self, keep an open mind, you may experience something  you may not, I hope you do, you'll get hooked if you do, I am and I go on lone vigils now, set up my equipment in cemeteries and derelict buildings, I know that sooner or later I will strike gold.

  8. I think the trick is not to get bogged down with the expectation of meeting a ghost and how you will react if it happens. Go in thinking that it is probable that nothing will happen on your first vigil. You will then create a state of mind where you are approaching it as an experiment and you can be objective.

I have found a problem with 'newbie' investigators is that they feed off each others nerves and scare themselves (and eventually everyone else) witless for no good reason and that jeopardises the vigil.  if people do get spooked try to not buy into it but set your mind on finding the logical explanation.

The golden rule is to try to stay calm and objective and listen to what's being said by the 'professionals' in the group.

    Good luck.

  9. Just go and enjoy it but remember it is all a load of crok.

  10. Guess I'll get a thumbs down for this too..like someone else did...but..What's a paranormal vigil? I've never heard of it.

  11. Go in assuming nothing.  Don't assume the ghosts are real and don't assume they don't exist.  If you approach it from an objective perspective you are going to have a much better time with things.

  12. Just keep an open mind & carry some Osha in your pocket.  Osha can be found at a health food store.  It is a dried root.  Just keep a piece in your pocket.  It wards off negative energy.  & very medicimal for other things.
