  1. Here's a link that might answer some of your questions.

I had mine inserted last week.  It's supposed to be 99.9% effective against pregnancy.   A pregnancy test should show up positive if you became pregnant.

  2. I'm pregnant right now and I was looking into that bc. It says in the manual that it should shorten your periods, but the first thing I read was that in the beginning for the first 3 months you should have check ups with doc. If you have any discomfort or you are late for your period schedule an appointment. But the big red flag...If you suspect that you could be pregnant you should def. make an appointment with your gyno. I do think you should also take a preg. test I don't see anywhere that it would give a false pos. result, and if it's neg. but your still worried just heading to you gyno really should be the thing to do. Also it does say that you should use back-up protection in the beg. they really should have given you more literature. I'm only 4 months preg. and the ob gave it right to me to read about it even came with the package insert. I'm sorry you doc flaked on doing so. Good luck. I hoped this helped

  3. Yes, it will hurt the baby, it will likely kill the baby. All hormonal contraceptives can.

  4. It will still show up on a home pregnancy test. I don't think it would hurt the baby though I would remove it as soon as you find out that you are, as  it is stuck in your cervix and could cause pre-term labour.
