  1. If the title is not in your name, then legally NO, you can not sell the car. You must register the vehicle and pay applicable taxes and have a new title printed in your name. That would be considered title floating, which basically means you bought the car and sold it as a ghost avoiding any taxes. In addition, a private seller is limited on how many cars they can sell without a dealers license and if you never register the car, then they can not track your selling.

If the title is in your name, then YES. If you have moved to another state and have not registered yet, you can sell it. I hope this helps.

  2. as long as you can show ownership of said vehicle with the proper title that is clear and no lien  you can sell it doesnt matter if it has never been registered or driven or anything else you own it you can sell it ...

  3. You can sell if you did not fill out the buyers portion of the title.

If you did you you will have to get a new title after the car is registered under your name.

  4. Of corse you can. You own it.

  5. Sure, assuming you own it.  If your name is on the title, it's yours to sell.  If your name is not on the title, no, you can't.

Someone will no doubt tell you to just give the new buyer the title signed by the old owner.  Why should the person now buying pay YOUR taxes due, and your penalty for not changing over the title in a timely manner?
