I have the winchester model 94 30-30 and a winchester 30-06?

i like the lightness of the 30-30 but the strength of my 30-06 so wat would be best for white tail hunting, both have scopes and im pretty good at aiming each and i am sure that i could hit a deer in the vitals witth both.

If the recoil on the 30-06 is too much try the new reduced recoil rounds from Remington. A 150 grain bullet in either is a good load. The 30-06 will offer more loadings than the 30-30 with a larger selection of bullets. Anything from 150, 170 or 180 grains will get the job done if you hit the target. Make sure that you practice with whichever rifle you intend to use. However the best way to improve your marksmanship is to buy a brick of 22 LR and get a gun in the same style as the one which you decide to use go to a range and wearing proper safety gear eyeglasses and ear muffs shoot the entire brick up. When you get to where you can hit the standard 22 50 yard NRA target inside the 7 ring all the time you should be able to hit a deer in the lungs with your larger rifle.
