Question:

I have these tiny little white dots on my lip, that you can barly see.. my doc said def not herpes...help!?

My doctor doesnt even know what it could be, he just said im probably allergic to something im putting on my lips, or face, or it could be my shampoo running down my face.. i think this is so weird... i mean i cant feel them... and you cant see them if you look at my lips.. i actaully have to like pull my lip really tight and i can see these little white dots... im freaking out what should i do?

  1. Your symptoms are not consistent with herpes infection. In an herpes infection, you may initially have pain or tingling on the lip or around the mouth. You will then see vesicles (fluid filled bumps) that will eventually break and crust over (yellow crust). It will be painful. Time course for recovery is typically between 7-14 days. By the way, you probably have been exposed to the herpes virus and don't know it, more than 80% of people have antibodies to the virus as adults (meaning they have been exposed) but a majority will never have symptoms. Hope this helps.  


  2. If they are just dots and not bumps, I don't think it's much cause for alarm. Try consulting another doctor FIRST but before you find out what they are, ease up on the make-up and try to experiment with your diet. Also, if you are in a physical relationship with someone else, make sure he is not giving any germs to you during interaction. But relax. :D You are just fine.
