But I'm not sure if thicker hair is hard to manage when it's so long. Anyone with experience in long thick hair??

And if it helps my hair drys straight with a few waves and it will straighten and stuff but never curl... I don't actually know if that's relevant to the question.. haha

  1. your hair sounds alot like mine. i have thick hair down to my mid-back, and its not that hard to manage, however it is prone to knots so you need a good brush, but other than that is should be fine...

  2. Yea i have a friend who has really thick hair and if it's too short then it looks like a lions mane (so no shorter) and she grew it out long like to the bottom of her shoulder blades and that was really hard so when it wasn't smooth and she just kept it in a pony until we started straightening it and then it was alot easier to manage (according to her). if you really want long hair I would say STRAIGHTEN STRAIGHTEN STRAIGHTEN because it's alot easier to take care of that way. So if you are willing to spend a bit more time on your hair I would say grow it longer because if your hair is thick and long then it looks AH-mazing !!

    hopes this helps :)

  3. your hair sounds excactly like mine

i can't help you that much but i would get it thinned because it's easier to take care of

  4. I have the same kind of hair. I know what you mean when you say it won't curl. My hair is to the middle of my back with long layers all the way through it,I use a size 2-1/2 curling iron with the heat set on 30,but you have to use setting spray to protect your hair from the heat of the iron the spray locks in the curl and protects the ends. I start from the top of my head taking 2in.sections spray with the curl lock and roll the section of the hair with big curling iron down toward your face until it is all curled let the curls sit without combing for about 10 min. then take your favorite hair spray turn hair upside down spray the underneath of your hair let dry then flip your head up and run your fingers through the curls and spray and shape the way you want it. you can back comb a little bit under the hair to give it more body but don't frizz it.this takes me about an hour but it is so worth it I promise. The good thing about thick long hair the longer you go without washing it the better it looks. day1 you look great, day 2 even better, day 3 you look fabulous everyone will compliment you on your hair, day 4 wash and condition and start over. I hope you have as much luck with this method as I do Good Luck!!

  5. if you wanna grow it longer.. go for it! just get it thinned out and get layers too.. oh if u ever wanna curl it get a good curling iron, one that can go up to 450 degrees since your hair is thick
