I have this antique knife that i brought. I am not sure if I am allow to put it in my luggage.?

The knife is about the size of 2 pencils. I want to know if i can put it in my luggage and sent it. I am not bringing it on the plane. But if I leave it in my suit cases will the people who check luggages take it out? Or am I even allow to put it in my luggage and sent it?

It might be easier to mail it home, especially if you are in a foreign country and on a transcontinental flight. You could probably get away with putting it in your checked bag though, so long as it is packaged.

package it seperately and have the reciept.  when you get to the airport tell the security people that you have an antique knife in the seperate box and want to put it in your luggage in the hold. usually at this point they will xray it and then watch you put it in your check in bag.

HOWEVER - with all the new security regs CALL the Airlines FIRST and ask them. it might be easier to FEDex it to your home instead.

You should check with your airline.  Knives are not allowed in carry-on luggage, but it is usually ok in checked luggage.

Make sure the knife is properly/securely sheathed or securely wrapped to prevent injury to baggage handlers and inspectors.

You cannot have it as carry on luggage.

Most airlines allow knifes and some even allow guns in checked luggage (ie you baggage that you hand over and gets but in the cargo hold.

But the best thing you can do is phone the airline your flying with and ask them to sent you a copy of there rules.

I think it would be a no. Because Knifes, Alcohol, etc. are not allowed in the airport. You know that girl! A lot of things are not allowed in the airport.......that is all!
