I have this cool exotic houseplant but the base smells real musky- anything I can do?

the plant has vines- don't know what it is but it's probably 10 years old and doing really good- it just smells musky

  1. You need to change the potting mix. If left, it can contain Legionnaire's Disease. Change it outside in the open air. Potting mix after a long time starts to break down and contains molds which when breathed in can cause problems in humans.

      Don't over water it either, as this can cause the mold to grow nice and fast. Make sure any water that does drain through is emptied in the saucer or holder.
