I have this extremely nosey neighbor ANY HELP??!!

Question

My house is to the left of his. He is all ways gardening and when no one is home i like to have a cigarette or 2 in the back back yard. Suddenly he cut the bushes that gave him no view of my yard. I DO NOT WANT ANYONE IN MY HOUSEHOLD TO KNOW I SMOKE!. He suddenly comes over time to time to peak over to " look in on me ". Im old enough to take care of myself and i put a piece of canvas on the side of the house where the fence is so he could not see in. It makes it look like there is cleaning or work being done. I come home yesterday to find hes been snooping through it!!. I ask him if hes seen anyone back there and he says " oh sorry i was just looking in ". Excuse me but what the ****?!. He barely has a life so I can only smoke outdoors from around 9 or 10 too about 2 or 3. I am extremly frightened that he may know something or soon will. Even when he is not home im scared he may come back and look or something. ANY HELP?? PLEASE SUGESTIONS

It looks to me like you have two issues.

A nosy neighbor and you don't want anyone in your household to know you smoke. You didn't explain how the cutting down his bushes make it known to your household that you smoke, but you can rest assured that if you're smoking, anyone who lives in your house knows it.

You should tell him up front to stay out of your yard, that you like your privacy and to just keep out or you'll have to call the police.

You are old enough to take care of yourself then take care of your smoking problem. Anyone around you who does not smoke will smell the stuff on you.  The nosey neighbour might just be usefull to you one day, so make an effort to be polite to some one who does not have such an interesting hobby as yours. You never know he may be a nice person. on the other hand you could always try growing your own hedge if he isnt.
