I have this friend that has a red sox yahoo group i would like to know how to attract members to it?

She doesnt know much about operating a yahoo group and I want to help her as much as i can. The groups name is: BostonRedSoxFans and the web address for it is: http://sports.groups.yahoo.com/group/BostonRedSoxFans/

She and I would appreciate the help

I moderate the group for her.

send the URL with details of the group to all your friends asking them to join and ask them to pass it on to all their friends. That may help. Good luck.

There are numerous defunct red sox groups that are just full of spam.  leave posts there telling people you have a new group that is not full of spam.

go to baseball chat rooms and look for sox fans and invite them

also, I see it is configured to allow ANYONE to post.  This will eventually attract spammers.  Configure the group so only members can post.
