I have this iron green house frame that is rusty...?

hi we have an old green house in our garden that we have knocked all ov the glass out ov so that in a month or so we can convert it in to a chicken coop or rabbit run,the thing is the frame is made of iron and is rusty,what can we do to make it look more presentable,are there any products we can use to scrub it or something? we will be painting it afterwards with some sort of anti rust paint or sumthin,thanx...

  1. Clean it up with a wire brush then paint with Hammerite.

I'm assuming you live in the U.S.A and I'm not sure if you can get this product there but "Rust Fix" is a very good product I have used it a number of times I live in Australia just out of interest, anyway you first get a wire brush that attaches to an electric drill and brush the surface rust off, after cleaning the dust off of the frame to get ready for painting paint it with Rust Fix after it dries hose off the access then wait for the frame to dry, once the frame is dry then paint it with your anti rust paint or metal paint. hope this helps, you may find the equivalent to Rust Fix in your country hope this is of some use to you.


  3. its a simple and dirty job of scraping and sanding all of the rust etc off that you can. Then you can spray the entire frame with a few cans of Rustoleum Rust Reformer. After which you can paint it any color you want. Time consuming but not rocket science.
