Question:

I have three colors to work with - Now, what to paint?

I have orange, blue, and green. I share a room with my little sister (parents, unless this is extremely needed, I definitley don't suggest this). My bedspread is orange and blue, hers is blue and green, so we decided on all three colors.

Our room is quite large - 25 by 15(approx.) feet.

I want a pattern of some sort, because we can't have solid-colored walls with three colors.

And I want something that's not so hard to do. Something that's consistent. Not random faeries and vines and flowers and c**p.

I'm 17, she's 12, so something that doesn't have Disney Princess or anything on it.

Any ideas?

  1. Go with neutral, it's common and it's looks good, I think. Plus, it lowers the chance of you guys fighting over which colors to paint the walls.

  2. You can easily do stripes or dots.  Either one would be really easy to paint.  Or you could decide on one color as the backround....blue since you both have that color.........then go around the room horizontally with a couple stripes of the other two colors.  Make the stripes about 2 inches wide so they stand out but don't overwhelm.

Or you can go to the craft store and buy some stencils and use them.  There are so many stencils out there that you're sure to find something that you would both like.  How about blue walls with a 5 inch wide horizontal stripe, then music notes or instruments (guitar, drums, violin, whatever) stenciled onto the stripe?
