  1. les catacombes, le cimetière du père lachaise, les égouts

  2. You may already know this, but if you don't go and visit Le Marais, the old Jewish quarter. Also, have you been down in the catacombes? It's amazing, eerie but full of history.

  3. Some museum alternatives I like (though I love Le Musée d'Orsay) are: L'Orangerie, next to Trocadero, where you can see the amazing Nymphees by Monet, and Le Musée de Rodin (near Les Invalides), where a lot of his sculptures are shown, some of them -like The Thinker- in the garden. You can visit only the garden if you do not have much time for 1€.

For churches, I like St.Sulpice and Saint-Eustache (next to Les Halles)

A little nice park is in Les Vogues, surrounded by a great square and a nice shopping, promenade and dining area near La Bastille.

Just a few ideas! Hope they are useful!

  4. How about going to have dinner with one of the creators of the 60's scene. A leader of the avante garde, author, publisher, and general wiseman/lunatic Jim Haynes.

He throws a dinner party every sunday night in his Paris atelier. Everyone kicks in 20 euros and there's good food and an open bar. As many as 200 people show up. Some regulars, some tourists, even some celebrities.

    Check out his webpage:http://www.jim-haynes.com/index.htm

  5. Salut!

Sorry , I don't speak very well english ...so... I answer in french :

Moi j' aime bien le quartier latin ( métro st michel ) c' est touristique mais moins que les Champs ou Pigalle.

Y'a pleins de cafés ou de terrasses ou des petites rues comme en Provence.

Sinon y'a Barbès, ça n' a rien à voir avec les quartiers chics parisiens ni les clichés qu'on offre volontiers aux touristes mais si tu ne veux plus du déjà - vu parisien alors : You will love it !!

  6. Have you visited La Sacred Coeur? (Sacred Heart Church)? It's up on a hill that over looks the city. It's an alternative to Notre Dame. I thought it was even more beautiful and moving. Plus, the photo ops from the hill are pretty awesome. If you were going to Spain, I could tell you a lot more cool places to visit! :)

  7. •Paris Plage - a beach built along the Seine, every summer.

•Catacombs - Whole buncha dead Parisians staring at you.

•Rodin Museum - The Thinker, The Burgers of Calais, great place to picnic as well. http://www.rodinmuseum.org/

•Pere Lachaise Cemetery - Gertrude Stein, Oscar Wilde, Edith Piaf, g*y-Lussac, Moliere, Jim Morrison. http://www.pere-lachaise.com/

•Paris Sewer Museum - smelly, but fascinating for the civil engineers and history buffs. http://www.paris.org/musees/egouts/

    •Da Vinci Code walking tour - http://ourworld.compuserve.com/homepages...

  8. You should visiting the castle of versailles. It is at 10 miles west of Paris. You took the RER (train) and you are in versailles city in 30 minutes.

It is the most beautiful castle in the world.

    Look at this web site:
