  1. York?  Loads of interesting museums and historic sites to explore.  Guess your boys might enjoy the Yorvic Centre (Vikings) and the Railway Museum.

  2. Stay at home and explore your local area.

You will be amazed at what you find.

  3. Margate, or any seaside town in the southeast.

  4. You could get the train up to The Alton Towers Resort which has transport from the train station staight to the park. Take them to Alton Towers Theme Park one day, stay over in the hotel, the next day take them to Splash Landings (Alton Towers water theme park) then either travel home or stay another night in the hotel.

  5. Thorpe park is really good ;]

    Camping

    Alton Towers

You could go down to the seaside for all three days.

  6. Come to Liverpool, as capital of Culture we have lots going on. Gone on a Lambanana hunt, see our wonderful Museums and take a trip on the Ferry Cross the Mersey.  Lots to do come rain or shine (go eat at Quinny's Cuisine Bold Street or Kimos on Brownlow Hill, both very cheap and plentiful).  Fact on Rope Walks is an amazing Arts Film venue, with special kids showings and couches instead of seats.  China Town, with our Beautiful Chinese Gate made and imported specially from China.

Lots of places are offering cheap stays.  Plus you can visit Chester while you here, go to the Zoo or visit the medieval city; plus the seaside is only a Merseytravel ride away, either West Kirby or Southport.

Birkenhead Market is amazing and Birkenhead Park (the oldest municipal park IN THE WORLD) has lots of free activities for the kids (book or phone ahead).

Do come, you'll have a great time as will your kids.

  7. Depends on where you are in England and how much time you want to spend travelling.

I saw Alton Towers mentioned - probably the best theme park in the country, although in Surrey you do have Thorpe Park and Chessington, plus numerous others throughout the country.  Then you have plenty of beaches and seaside resorts (I left a link to Bournemouth, it's different to many of the others and has a lot of local attractions).

Really though, what do you and they like doing?

Are theme parks a high priority?  How about something historical instead?

You could take a trip to London, see the Tower Of London, Tower Bridge, and a bit further west you have Hampton Court Palace with the maze, and boat trips down the Thames.  Then museums, including the Imperial War Museum, Hendon Air Force Museum, and of course the British Museum to name a few.

Or in the Midlands, how about Warwick Castle - a splendid castle, and 15 miles south Stratford On Avon and Shakespeare's birthplace etc.

So many choices... Are you more into outdoor things, like the Lake District...

  8. The Lake District.

    Accessible by train or bus.

Ideal for young boys to swim, walk, climb at every level.

    Healthy activity,awe inspiring beauty.

    Fun in all weathers.

Can camp, static caravan ,bed & breakfast or hotel.

Doesnt cost as much in a week as a city would in a day.

    Steam trains,lake cruises,motorboat hire,canoes,sailing,windsurfing,visitors centres,museums,horseriding,mountain biking.

    No crime.

    Virtually all whites.

  9. It would help us to know roughly where you live in Britain?
