I have three unique girls' names for you to appraise...?

Question

- Xanthe (ZAN-thee) Johanna (joh-HAH-nah) > love both names

- Xanthe Maysa (may-sah) > walking with proud gait; this is of Arabic origin and one of my two best friends is half-Palestinian...

- Xanthe Indigo > means a little something to me

I once knew a girl named Xanthe; she was a brilliant scientist last I heard, so I have a good association with it.  I like all the middle names too.

Johanna is an absolutely gorgeous name!

How about Johanna Xanthe? You combine classic with unique and it sounds beautiful. Johanna as a first name sounds more elegant.

Xanthe is different, but I do NOT think she get teased. I think others will grow to like it. Imagine how it was when Xavier got popular?

I have to be honest...I do not like Xanthe.  That kid is going to have so many problems in life...just people trying to figure out how to pronounce her name.  Think of the problems she'll have when she gets older.  NO ONE will spell her name right.  And she will be getting mail addressed to Zanti, Zanee, and Xylaphone.

If you really like that name, I would simply reverse the process.  I think all of the middle names are fine.  Especially Indigo, since it has a special meaning for you.  

Please do her a favor.  Don't name her Xanthe!!

My mom has a very unique first name.  And no one ever pronounces it right, spells it right, and she hates it!!

Xanthe is not a name ... it's what people THINK is a name, give it to their children, and let their children be miserable forever (or until they're 18 when they can legally change it).

As for the middle names, Johanna is the only one I actually think is tolerable.

I like Xanthe Johanna.  Apparently you are going to use Xanthe, which does not sound bad.  Johanna will give her a "normal" name if she chooses to use that at any point, in case she does not like the unique first name.

i dont think it flows with the middle names at all. perhaps u could change them  a little?
