I have thumb pain help please?

i was playing football today and i fell and i hurt my thumb it hurt pretty badly but i continued to play with only my left hand when i got home about 4hours later i tried moving it ut i cant really bend it back without pain, what do u think happened to it and how long will it take to heel it?

It's probably a bruise. You should've put ice on it immediatly after it happened but I think it will take a couple weeks to return to 100%

It could be broken or sprained, it depends on what you did to hurt it.  Check to see if it looks like it might have a small round bruise on it, because that might indicate a break.  If it's really hurting, you might need to go get an x-ray, and if it's broken, you'll have to keep it in a splint for a couple weeks.  I broke my thumb playing soccer, but I was able to keep playing because I just wrapped up my hand before each game.  So  you may still be able to play football.
