  1. If you don't have the means to measure the volume accurately, you might also be able to calculate it if the manufacturer provides the specific gravity (density) in their MSDS sheet. I have done this with polyurethane resins to convert between mix by volume ratio and mix by mass.

    Volume = Mass / Density


  2. You are going to have to determine the volume of 1.6 g of resin, most likely by measuring the volume.  

    Place a small, empty, graduated volumetric container on a scale.  Balance the scale, then add 1.6g of resin and measure the volume on the graduated cylinder.  

    The catalyst volume is 5% of that volume.

    If you cannot retrieve the resin from the container, at least you know what volume of catalyst to use, for fresh resin out of the original package.
