i have a few apple snails in my newt tank and i have noticed a difference. it can hurt to put them in

why do u need a filter for your toad american toads should only have there high at rest worth of water

here's a caresheet i wrote

15 gallon aquarium with a well fitting lid (preferably a mesh/screen top) filled with a deep substrate of microwaved (for one min) organics (no fertilizers or pesticides) potting soil. coco humus. eco earth or microwaved leaf litter/mulch. Spray with a plant mister daily to keep humidity up. as for furnishings hiding places broad leaved plants (fake or real) bits of wood and flat stone arranged to make a series of hiding places.

clean out and replace substrate at least every month. since i dont know the species i have no idea what temperatures it needs.

a shallow water bowl/dish (one of those trays u put under a plant pot would be ok) with a stone in so its easy for it to get out filled with bottled mineral water (NOT TAP) changed every day (NO SLACKING)

Food Wise: live bugs (earthworms slugs flies crickets) fed every other day

Never handle your toad unless absolutely necessary chemicals and salts on your skin can harm your toads (on the very rare occasion u may have to handle your toad wash your hands before keep them wet and never hold a toad for more than a few seconds)
