  1. Go to youtube and type in wooden boat Lilly-w.

That will give u some idea of how to.

  2. I am guessing that this "boat" you have to build is a "model"... not the real thing... If so... and you really want to make it easy...

I would cut off two equal length pieces of a wooden broom handle...

get yourself a large hand full of popsicle sticks and glue your self a deck (like a pontoon boat)...

side rails can be matches or toothpicks...

and you can use your imagination for deck furniture...

    or

add a "cabin" on the deck and make it a house boat...

    - if you build it with 2 hulls, as in a catamaran or pontoon - you won't have to worry about ballasts to keep it floating upright...

    - if however, they are going to be raced - you might want to sand the hulls to the shape of a tapered bow.  and/ or use "balsa wood" which is much-much lighter, and therefore faster - and you can get "balsa wood" at most any hobby or craft shop.

On the otherhand, if you are talking "life size"... Give your school 4 kudos from me... I would have loved to have gone to school there.

For all kinds of ideas... go to:

  5. no not at this time

  6. Among the easiest and cheapest boats to build would be a Cape Cod Frosty, the world's smallest international one design class:

http://www.capecodfrosty.org/  Contact Tom Leach for plans and kits to build a boat.  You will have to buy a sail and some hardware, but that will be your only major expense.

You could also build a stitch-and-glue kayak.  Many options are available here.  Popular companies for kits, plans would include Pygmy Kayaks http://www.pygmyboats.com/ or a company called Chesapeake Light Craft. http://www.clcboats.com/.

There are many others.  Do a Google search under stitch and glue+kayaks and you'll get a bunch of hits.

    Enjoy your project!

  7. get an old bath tub and put an electric. trolling motor on it.
