Our old car may have finally died...we have around 3k total to spend on one. What are some cars that I can take a look at for that price? What car brand should I try? Of course I want a fuel efficient car and something that's not too small. Would a Grand Ame be fuel efficient?

  1. You probably dont want to hear this but I would go for a civic or an older accord. I have had friends and family who had there's well past 100k miles and never had any major problems (besides belts, batteries, starter/alternator). Great on fuel and pretty good space inside.

  2. Buy American. The Cobalt is nice. GM is coming out with 3 new fuel efficient cars. One is the Aveo. The new Malibu is nice too.

Pontiac is good to. The Vibe is nice

  3. dont get a Pontiac..i do suggest a late 90's honda or toyota of some sort.

  4. My first Saturn SL1 went for over 430,000 km before the cost of repairs made it impractical to keep it.  I presently own three Saturns.  Two of them have high mileage and are still running great.  I would recommend you look for a Saturn that has been well cared for.

  5. 98 Acura CL

    98 Ford Mustang V6

    98 Honda Accord or Civic

    98 Nissan Frontier or Pathfinder

    98 Subaru Impreza or Legacy

98-00 Toyota Corolla or Echo 00

  7. I think - you should also compare insurance quotes for these cars before buying one, for example here: http://carinsurance.yoll.net

As I remember Grand AM is expensive to insure.

  8. make use of the SE like google or yahoo to get some ideas first if you want to get the massive information, however if you do not want to spend so much time, here is a direct and good resource for your questions.http://car-price.bestips.info/free-price...
