  1. I'd go with Canon with digital cameras every time.

  2. Canon hands down.

I personally think sony still has a lot of room for improvement in the digital camera area.

  3. Canon is the best.

  4. Sony Cybershot is the best

  5. Personally, I ALWAYS go with Canon. I have had 3 Canon cameras (3 because I upgraded, not because they broke -- they all work perfectly) and I have never been disappointed. They are little more expensive, but totally worth the money. Read the reviews here, and you will see that people agree: http://www.viewpoints.com/Canon-Digital-...

If you still aren't convinced and want to read up on sony too though, you can do that here: http://www.viewpoints.com/Sony-Digital-C...

  6. I recommend you to go with Canon - The POWER SHOT

  7. i'd go w/ the canon

  8. Between Sony and Canon of a similar price range there will not be really noticable differances until the picture is enlarged. I am not specially familiar with either model specifically, but have a lot of experience using cameras from both and did photography for several groups.

The primary noticable differance is that some of the Sony cameras will have a higher grade lens so the clarity might be a little better, and Canon has had some colour recognition issues in the past, but has a reputation to last. I would just ensure both cameras are at least 4.0 MP and compare the zoom, as it can negate some clarity issues on a longer shot pre- as opposed to post- editing (because minimal/no editing is best).

If you are doing professional photography neither would really show superiority, so I would go with the Canon for its durability.

If however you are doing professional photography you might find the Sony gives a slightly better picture if enlarged. Both are fine though, so really with me it would come down to price.

This is solely based on my exerience with each, as well as what I heard from photographers and owners of such cameras though, and they might have fixed any problems. Hope I helped though.
