I find myself standing in front of multiple paths in life that will decide if I will either waste or take advantage of the great opportunities I have at the moment. I really don't want to waste them nor do I want to rush into something stupid. I know it's retarded to ask this since only I can really figure this out but I wanted to ask how did you decide, if you have already, or how are you going to decide what will make you most happy? I'm sure I'll have something figured out by the time I read some of your answers but I just like to hear what everyone has to say on the subject. Thank you in advance for the opinions and best of luck to anyone in the same situation as I. Hope we all choose the best path and come out happy in the end.

  1. Find your passion...whatever that is- and go with it.

    Go with your gut instinct.

    Don't fret- Good luck!

  2. ...went ahead and did it the hard way...with the experienced learn i wouldn't change anything...

  3. I tend to just go with flow and not stress over issues. I'm one who feels we all plan our lives out before we experience them. So whatever happens is meant to happen.

  4. The most important thing for your happiness is to choose the right partner. The right person for you as an individual, and the right person to be the other parent of your children.

Everything else is negotiable. You can always go back to college later, you can swap courses, you can change jobs, you can move house, you can join new hobby groups, you can drop out of old ones. Few people's lives are mapped out like freeways. Most of us have to take the back roads. Sure, it takes longer to get where you are going, but you can still appreciate the scenery.

  5. you sound like a libra

am in the same boat i know how you feel

    good luck to you.

  6. I'm still stalling.

My take on it is that if I can't entirely decide, then neither path must be truly right. I will continue to wander the wilderness, exploring many new things until I find the path that I know will lead me to my destiny (or to where I can begin to build my destiny), but I also keep a good map to remamber where the paths I haven't taken are located (in case I need to go back and take them up).

  7. I can tell you what I did wrong: I hesitated for a long time, to make up my mind. I was at a crossroads for so long, just waiting there to decide, it changed the course of my life. And other people's lives too.

If the decision is that damned hard, then it's probably a push. Just pick one day when you feel positive about a particular path. And don't look back. You may get the chance to backtrack anyhow, and it won't have been all that momentous.

I finally decided by imagining that I had already decided each way, and testing how I  would feel about it *when things went as badly as they could.* And I chose the path that I thought seemed to have the least-bad worst case. I think it was right, but I am not sure my process of choosing made any difference. The important thing was letting go of the other option.

Be realistic. Whatever you choose to do, you sacrifice something, and you have to accept that. Don't let desire for some vague dream of Someday ruin your appreciation of what you *can* have. You're whole, right now, and you always will be. Every choice is a compromise, a settling for less, if you let yourself see it that way - it's all in your attitude, to see what's positive as a "good enough" source of happiness.

  8. All roads lead to Rome (death), you just need to find the most pleasant path.

    I cannot help you here.

  9. There is what we want, and how to get it.  Determine what you want, and how easy or difficult it will be to get.  Weigh the two factors and ponder it for as long as you need until the answer becomes clear.
