My boyfriend likes to have the remote, but i usually ask him to turn it to one of my shows. I dont think he's chauvinistic and if that's the only thing you like to control, then you arent either. If you had said "I like controlling the tv because my girlfriend doesnt know anything" then you would be

I have no idea whether you are a chauvinist. However, I don't think it's healthy for one person to control the relationship, and if you want to control the remote, you should probably buy a separate T.V.

We have an agreement: he can have the remote, but can only change channels during the commercials or between shows. No channel-surfing if I'm in the room. Works out well.

This is why we have more than one TV in our house. Considering that the Bible predates television by a couple thousand years, the "by God" part doesn't hold up.
