I have to declare a major soon. I'm thinking of an English Major.

Question

I see many people who major in a particular field in college that ultimately has nothing to do with their future jobs.I would like to know what different peoples experiences ,with an English major,have found to be the case after college.

If you plan to teach, an English major would be a useful asset.  In other fields, it may be an iffy thing at first, particularly in light of today's economy.  However, who knows?  You could write a best seller someday.
