I was thinking about doing the first scene in which he sells his wife. Can anyone help me write a script for my dramatic monologue? And does anyone have any tips about doing a dramatic monologue?

  1. If you look it up on google you will see a list of other peoples work.. then you can get ideas from that.

  2. Dramatic monologues are great fun, and a great way to improve your public speaking skills, and confidence.  The best way to write a script from an existing piece, is to follow it as closely as you can, while adding your dramatic renderings.  Make sure you make room for pauses, emotion, and making sure you know where you want to be quiet and where you want to be loud.

When you perform, costuming is fun, but not necessary.  Stand straight up, or in a stage posture that fits your piece.  Use your belly to project your voice to the very back of the room, and use your heart to get to the ache and passion of this piece.  And, remember to have great time doing it!!
