I have to do a paper on poverty, but I really have no clue on what to write about.?

Which approach should I take Structural functional, Conflict or symbolic interaction. And what should I write about in regards to that approach

Conflict theory such as marxism is a good theory to link in with poverty. A statement linked with marxism is "the rich get richer and the poor get poorer". marxists see that the bourgeiosie exploit the proleteriat, creating a sense of false class consciousness.

You take a subject area (like one suggested above by Kelley), then you make some hypotheses and consider how various approaches tackle the problem and then come to a conclusion, seeing whether your hypotheses hold or not and assessing the intellectual arguments. That's what usually happens in sociology.
