I have to do a project on a specific environmental concern? What should I do it on?

It's for geography :)

I have to do a presentation on a specific environmental concern.

e.g. the destruction of the great barrier reef or the bees dissapearing (someone already did those)

It can't just be something broad like global warming.

I know there are lots but I want a really good one. It also has to have a big effect. like, someone did one on shark extinction, which is bad because all the little sea animals are overpopulating. Something like that.

How about the over development of Suburban and Sub rural area's and what effect that has on the environment as well as the community. That's a major problem effecting everything.

-The killing of those seals on the West Coast bc they keep on eating up prized Salmon.

-Too much benzene levels in certain city atmospheres (like Houston) (benzene is a carcinogen)

Do the destruction of the rain forests. Or do the melting of polar ice caps (Google Larson B). Or you could do a project on how fish are being over-fished and how its messing (messed) up the ocean's eco-system.

The Sweet Home Case.  It describes how the government accounts for protected land that is the habitat of an endangered species.  However, under the Sweet Home Case, 40% of the state of California is protected.  In other words, 40% of the entire state cannot be developed.
