I have to fill flower beds with dirt. I need to know how to figure out how much dirt i will need.

If you figure that your average depth is 10 inches then you'll need 55 cubic feet or 2.0  cubic yards or just over two pickup loads.

Sorry, I don't think there is an easy answer to this one. You just have to buy/obtain as much as you think you need.

Two cubic yards of well composted soil should do the trick. Try to get weed free dirt and mix with compost/peat moss/ & fertilizer to enjoy several years of easy care. It would be good to till and loosen the bottom of your beds to provide maximum root growth depth - a trick called double digging.
