Ok my doctor said the next time I come in(2 months) I have to get a physical. Im 13. What are they going to do to me? I've never had one that I remember. I heard that you have to get naked and they like...touch you and stuff...ewww. Or is that only for adults?

What do they usually do for kids? If they ask me to take my clothes off Im gonna refuse.

  1. haha i said the same thing

its just like a check up.

depending on when or if you have yur period they might looks at your brests but they do that every day and if u dont have one you can ask for a female dr. its their job.. just remember that!!

  2. They do NOT touch you like you think they will...

A physical is an examination to see if you're physically fit to play a sport. They mostly just make you:

~bend over and touch your toes (to see if you have a back problem)

~breath in and out (lung problems)

~eye test(looking at letters, to see if you need contacts/glasses)

~jump up and down(idk what that is for)

~and copy the motions that the person does(i have no idea why they do this)

~sometimes they take a urine sample(but not all the time)~check your height and weight

    ~take your blood pressure

  3. usually there will not be a lot of touching or undressing unless the physical requires it for a medical reason that you are already aware you have.  if you refuse its no big deal

  4. they just make you walk like a duck [to check balance]

    and bend over [check spine]

and thats really it NO undressing

  5. if its a sports physical you don't have to get naked, but if it is a full blown physical then they have to check EVERYTHING.

sorry, i have never had any kind of physical and im 15 so i don't have advice.

    good luck

  6. alright sweetie, just breathe for a sec okay?

it's just like a check up. they'll check your eyes, height, weight. then when you go in the room, they turn out the lights and do another eye  & ear check. ask you a few questions about your health, if you got your period yet. take a urine test, but all you do is go in the bathroom and pee in a cup. check your heart rate, breathing. stick that wooden stick in your mouth, blood pressure, and that's about it.

they may do a few other things, but nothing that you would have to take your clothes off.

nothing to flip out over. you're gonna be fine. they fill out a form, then you take it to your school.
