I have to get surgery?

Question

I have to get surgery under my armpit because i have an abscess. It's because of shaving and i guess i used a too strong deodarant? I'm getting it Thursday,and I'm kind of nervous. Also,it burns when i move my arm even slightly,and I can't lift my right arm all the way? I take pain medication but it still hurts terribly to the point and i can't really sleep at night. Is there any other way to relieve the pain until my surgery? Please give helpful info,it hurts really bad ):.

i had a very similar thing when i was younger and years ago i put heat on it. but i don't know if heat would still be the choice or if ice would work better. It hurt for me to move my arm at all and if i laughed or anything it was very painful. I didn't have to get surgery after all because eventually it went away .

As horrible as it sounds to some, marijuana works wonders for pain. I broke my leg in 3 places and after 3 days of prescription drugs I switched over to weed and although it still hurt like h**l I found myself thinking more about chocolate than my foot.

You should have asked your MD for a pain med that is a little stronger. When you are going to bed, put a pillow under your arm to keep it elevated.

Ive personally never had one however I promise that once its drained.... youll feel as thuogh you never had one.

We do I & D's at the Urgent care I work at, maybe 2-3 a day. every pt has said the same. 100% better afterwards, hang in there doll, one more night.
