  1. feed them a line doesn't matter if it is true or not

  2. OK here's a few examples/ideas

    good afternoon everyone,

lets start with why i would give good customer service, MMM i thought that was obvious, I will be getting paid for it, no really

the reason why i am cut out for this job is because my mind is always focused on customer service.

what is customer service? customer service is delivering good services to the public, being aware of peoples needs, being patient, polite and courteous.

i am sure that in our life we have been in a bad situation were we have received bad customer service, from this we learn.

in any working job employed by big companies its not about your pay packet, you have a name to live up to and you need to be proud and let others be proud of u.

i hope to live up to the expectations and will work to the best of my ability, i will be an asset working for the company and will have customers leaving happy.

(always have an ice breaker in a presentation, it helps people relax) i hope some of that was helpful and good luck.

  3. you could start by saying you believe in treating others as you would wish to be treated.... and go from there.

    Good luck!

  4. From a commercial point of view, good customer service should make people happy, and hopefully they will tell others of their fine travelling experience.  Result: more fare paying customers, increased profit for the company.

You could also rabbit on about how the success of rail transport is vital for the environment, helping to reduce CO2 emissions, and you want to be a part of the team that does their bit.

Don't forget to gen up on the current franchise situation; after November 11th, Central Trains will no longer exist, and you'll either work for East Midlands (Stagecoach), West Midlands (GoVia) or Cross Country (Arriva), depending on the depot you are based at.

  5. As Saffron said, treat people as you would wish to be treated, focus on customer service, ie: remaining calm and polite but assertive in all situations, maintaining a professional and approachable persona, treating everyone the same but tailoring approach to an individual, ensure that you follow and promote company policies and ethics. Maintain a 'can do' attitude, team player etc. That sort of thing. Have you done any research on the company, mentioning their current passenger charter and aims would be good as well.

Good luck - let me know how you get on!

  6. (Hi im using my g/f's account) I went for a CSA job on LUL, passed but couldnt be employed cos of my age.

Basically try to say what they want to hear. You want the passengers to travel safe and feel safe if they are alone. USE EMPATHY, If you was that passenger in front of you who was asking the question how would you wish to be spoken to. Always be polite and alert keep your whits about you and you will pass with flying colors. I gurantee you.

  7. I would say

"All passengers are scum, passengers are a complete inconvenience and Central Trains would be much happier without them, I don't like people and I never have."

That way, Central Trains are bound to offer you the job!

Seriously though, I wish you all the best - I hope we start to see more customer-friendly staff re-appearing on our railway!
