  1. Cabin pressure and the dry airplaine air really dry out contacts. I can usually only go about 2 to 3 hours with them in on the plane. I took a flight from Los Angeles to Munich and was able to wear them for 6 hours with the help of an over the counter eye drop called OPTIVE. It penetrates the cornea and keeps things pretty hydrated. I was impressed. Take some solution in a case with you so you can take your contacts out if you need to. Make sure your glasses are on your carry on. Prepare for the worst and hope for the best, that way you are not stuck with being uncomfortable while you travel.

  2. You can, but from my own experience, they will dry out and make your eyes uncomfortable.  I always travel with my glasses, a contact case and a tavel size bottle of solution in case I feel like taking them out.  Then if I take them out, I can put them back in at the airport when I get off the plane.

  3. if u want but if u fall asleep they may get dried out and become uncomfortable
