  1. Relax!!! :D

  2. If you are having general anesthetic (being put to sleep), then you have no reason to be nervous about the procedure itself.

When you get out, ice your face plenty.  Your face won't be swollen or in pain probably for the entire first day, but ice anyway so it doesn't come back the second or third.  I would also suggest taking an immune boosting supplement like airborne or something, a couple times the day before your surgery (not after midnight) and a couple times a day over the next few days, because it has vitamins and things like glutamine, which your body needs to repair itself. (That's what I did)

Everyone will tell you that everyone is different.  When I had mine pulled (just a couple of weeks ago) I just had a minor ache in my jaw on the second and third day and no swelling at all, but my sister was in a bit of pain on the third night, but was better the next morning, so, everyone responds differently.

But if you're just worried about the procedure itself, if you're going to sleep, it is seriously no big deal.  When they put the i.v. in, just don't look, because it doesn't hurt nearly as much as stubbing your toe or banging your elbow on a desk.

    Good luck!

  3. It's actually not that bad...but get your fill of potato chips and doritos before you get them taken out--it'll be a while before it's comfortable to eat them again :o)

  4. my sister does too. Shes not worrying about it cause she keeps thinking that everything is going to be better after its all done. thats what keeps her from being wicked nervous

  5. Hey there! ^^ Don't worry about it, really...

I got mine removed just a couple of months ago, and I was a special case. =P I had 6 teeth to be removed, so that was interesting. It actually goes by really quickly... mine only took about 20-30 minutes. The anesthesia took 15 minutes to kick in, but the surgical part was pretty quick. I was surprised.

Also, this I highly recommend (it helped me so much) is bringing an MP3 player. I brought my iPod, turned the music up really loud, and tried to focus on that instead. It helped so much and made the time go by much more quickly. Bring it with you to the office and ask them if you can listen to it while your teeth are being removed.

Don't worry, it really isn't that bad. Breathe and relax. =]

  6. Good luck. It's not that bad, you will be numb, and maybe a little sore after.

  7. It really isn't all that bad. I got mine out and It was over before I knew it. I slept most all all the rest of the day. It was uncomfortable the next day but it gets better soon!!

When they heal be carefull eating chips!!! Sometimes I still get some stuck back there!

Good luck! You'll be just fine!

  8. Don't be afraid, everyone has their teeth pulled out. If you're not scared it won't hurt as much and you'll be just fine.  Don't get all worked up or be so nervous, it'll only make it worse.
