it is one of the best pieces of literature i have ever read

    Bad things:

they are part of fueding families

    romeo kills juliets cousin Tybalt

    romeo is Banished

    juliet fakes her death

romeo kills himself thinking his juliet is dead

oh and both familes lose the most important people

    hope this helps

  2. Read the play.  Here is a link.  Part of appreciating Shakespeare is to read it.  I'm sorry but in this section you will not find many people who will do your homework for you.  As theatre professionals and enthusiasts, we WANT you to learn to like theatre.  Shakespeare is a MAJOR part of that.

  3. The you should spend more time reading the book and less on the internet.

Or get cliff notes or i think they have shakesphere specific ones called spear notes or something.

  4. Lala

There is a pivotal scene in the 3rd act when Mercutio is dying and he curses the families with these words "A plague on both your houses!". Everything that happens before this scene is basically funny or of  no long term serious consequences. People party, tell stories, and have fights in the street where no-one gets hurt. All of the comic scenes are before this curse. And Romeo and Juliet have three scenes together where they (a) meet, (b) fall in love and (c) are married in secret.

After this curse everything becomes bad. Tybalt, Juliet's cousin, is a little more headstrong than evil. It's not clear that he really intended to kill Mercutio or if he was just a blowhard.

    (0) Mercutio dies from the wound inflicted by Tybalt.

    (1) Tybalt is killed by Romeo.

    (2) Romeo is banished by Prince Escalus.

    (3) Benvolio, the friendly cousin mysteriously vanishes.

    (4) There are no more clowns like Sampson and Gregory.

    (5) The Nurse, who was a funny character begins to transform into the ultimate evil, a practical adult who recommends to Juliet that she accept what happens to Romeo and marry the good looking Paris. After all, a hunk is a hunk. One is interchangeable for the other.

    (6) Friar Laurence's machinations become more and more dangerous.

    (7) The parents become more manipulative and nastier.

    (8) Paris becomes more of a stalker and is eventually killed.

    (9) Romeo and Juliet have only one more brief scene together to consummate their marriage. Their reunion is not sweet and tender but dominated by images of fear and of death. For the last two acts of the play they never speak to each other again and suffer alone and friendless.

    (10) Romeo's mother dies

    (11) The other three parents suffer in agony at their loss.

    (12) Even the prince feels pangs of anger that he was not able to govern his city. He loses friends and kinsmen.

    (13) Of course, R&J die young.

Please read the play. Don't rely on simple lists of actions.

  5. You have to read it to find out.

  6. Actually, you  DON'T  have to know because if you did you would.
