  1. Make a board that is the outline of the state you live in or of another state. Then place all the major and some minor cities of that state on it.  Connect routes or roads  to each. They would be like the spaces on Candy Land. You board could have a short cut or two like Candy Land does.

Then make up questions about things in your state:  ie- what is the state bird/tree/song,  biggest city, major crop or industry,  famous people born or who did things in the state, etc.....all state related questions.  Have a few cards that are "go ahead 2/3/4 spaces"  or "go back 2/3/4 spaces"

Everyone starts at the same city and tries to go around the state on the "roads" connecting the cities.  Roll a die to see how many spaces you can advance if you answer the top card from the question pile.  If answered correctly advance that number of spaces rolled on the die.  If not, stay where you are.

First person to transverse across the roads and back to the beginning or maybe to the capital city if you make that the ending place, wins.

  2. Use the same layout as monopoly but use 2 or 3 counties that are located near each other such as USA,Mexico and Canada. Use north, south, east and west instead of Railroads. I think you can think of other substitutes for the different places on the board. Just make a smaller version then the original game.
